Mercedes Schlapp doesn't have an easy gig as the White House strategic communications adviser. It is not easy for Mercedes Schlapp to serve as the advisor to strategic communications for the White House. But through it all Schlapp is focused on the mission in hand and has worked closely with White House's political affairs and legislative affairs teams and policy shops, as well with the larger communications team in order to oversee policy implementations. In her current position she's focused on several topics, including safety at schools and opioids. Her interactions with journalists aren't often in her current role. Her name was a big draw in the wake of being announced as a candidate to replace Hope Hicks, the communications director. Mercedes Schlapp has a tough job as White House's advisor on strategic communications. Mercedes Schlapp is faced with an administration that is beset by numerous issues, including a president who is acting as its own communication director and Cabinet Secretaries embroiled in their respective controversies. Schlapp is able to remain focussed and focused by working closely with White House teams in political issues, legislative affairs, and policy as well the wider communications team. So far, Schlapp has concentrated on school safety concerns, addiction infrastructure, trade, and addiction. At the moment, Schlapp does not deal too much with journalists. It was in March that she received a flurry of interest, after it was known that Schlapp would be an option to take over Hope Hicks's position as director of communication. The battle has been brutal. Schlapp's allies and Tony Sayegh have begun to fight in the media. Schlapp stated to the Washington Examiner that she spoke to Sayegh to discuss the recent article that was negative on him.
