Nancy O'Dell's first job in the broadcast industry was as an anchor and reporter at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She later worked as morning news anchor and crime reporter for WCBD-TV. The journalist's report on the lack of responses of police officers to DUI cases in Charleston resulted in an investigation conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, which led to a change in direction from the state authorities on DUI cases. Ms. O'Dell was honored by the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year Awards to all media South Carolina. After her time living in Charleston, O'Dell worked as an anchor co-host for the NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV and as an investigative journalist. After that, she was hired by Access Hollywood to work as a weekday and weekend correspondent. Additionally, she is a co-anchor on Dateline NBC and NBC News Today. She was a reporter for events like The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. In addition to co-hosting Pre-ShowArrivals in preparation for The Emmys & The Golden Globes. She also hosted Miss USA's pageant, as well as the Miss Universe Pageant.
